Come join us at our newest Kitesurfing location in Kenya…

Posted by admin on May 26th, 2008

I am mobile in the UK at the moment..
Needing a local number I went and bought a SIM card. The iPhone being on O2 here I grabbed one of theirs.. The one that said ‘50 Free Minutes’ on the packet.
It seemed reasonable at £10.00.
However 10 minutes later flashing down the M25 iPhone in one hand, [...]

Cool article on Wired.com..
Maddox has been into skydiving for 20 year and used to compete in tracking contests, where free-falling skydivers move horizontally across the sky at speeds approaching 120 mph. His buddy was always just a little bit faster, so Maddox thought “it’d be fun to strap a jet engine to my chest and [...]

The world-famous Red Arrows have been banned from appearing at the 2012 London Olympics because they are deemed ‘too British’.
Organisers of the event say that the Arrows military background might be ‘offensive’ to other [...]

This is from a very interesting article published on ArsTechnica..
[Researchers also found that geckos in windtunnels (pictured above) were able to control their decent and steer towards a solid surface using their tails. When on their stomachs, gliding in a pose similar to Superman's, the position "allowed them to use their tails to turn or [...]

Just to let everyone know… Registrations are now officially closed, and we are really sorry, but as we predicted to those who were hanging on hoping to just turn up each day, that will not be possible because of security concerns from the Vietnamese Authorities.. But we’ll see you for a beer in the evening, [...]

Pensacola News Journal does a write up on Psycho Bob and our boogie.. A Nice read…

For someone who says he’s afraid of heights, Robert Collins loves to fly.
[Glad to know it's not just the ESC staff who are scared of heights! - SRN]
Just about every weekend, the 45-year-old Pensacola resident clambers aboard a small plane, [...]

Skydiving used in new Pentagon weapons research…

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2008

Interesting article on Wired on an unusual, but perhaps logical use of skydiving..

The authors collected sweat, urine, blood, saliva, ECG, respiration, and self-report measures in 20 subjects (n=11 males and n=9 females) before, during, and immediately following their first-time tandem skydive, as well as before, during, and immediately following their running on a treadmill for [...]
