THE RESULTS OF THE FIRST NATIONAL Russian AWARD
FOR ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE WORLD OF EXTREME SPORT
and scandalous incident – 1 of bronze regards was stoled
On Saturday 18th March in Moscow,
Russia at Europe’s coolest Skatepark “Adrenalin†a festival for alternative sport, music and street culture ‘EXTREME NATION’ was organized, resulting in the first Russian national premier for outstanding contributions to Extreme sport and business and the highest award in Extreme sport and business – Extreme Awards 2005.

The 33cm bronze-gold awards, weighing 3 kilograms each, were presented to the winners of the different categories by famous people from the world of Show business, Politicians, Musicians, Directors of Banks and Sportsmen. Andrei ‘Dragon’ Krasnov, Editor in Chief of Extreme Magazine and creator of the ceremony was also on hand to present the awards. Andrei Krasnov, Editor in Chief of Extreme Magazine and Leader of the Events Organization Committee “The increased attention and interest in this event by the young generation, media, the entire sports industry and society as a whole is a certain, indisputable fact. The Extreme Sports Awards will become the new landmark in the development of Extreme Sports across Russia.†“It is possible to say with confidence that to combine an event with riders and supporters of alternative music together effectively with an official ceremony is practically impossible. Extreme Nation however, managed to combine both events with a lot of success.†The festival offered 5 different sports events – Skateboarding, Aggressive Inline Skating, BMX-street, BMX-flatland and Fingerboarding while having 20 live alternative music bands appearing on stage. There were nearly 5000 people who came to the large indoor arena to watch their favorite event in a warm and comfortable environment The main organizers of the event were as follows: – Extreme Magazine, Radio NEXT and UXM Promo. This event was also made possible by a number of sponsors and information partners including the largest Sports exhibition in Russia – ISPO, bank card – Soyuznick, DC, Circa and Atom to name but a few.
While the awards ceremony took place a scandalous incident occurred behind the scenes. The coveted ‘Russian Oscar’ award for best TV program was taken from host and producer of “Separation Point†program. With 5 000 spectators attending the ceremony it was impossible to catch the perpetrator. The program «Separation Point» outpaced other highly popular extreme sports programs from channels as popular as MTV, First Channel and 7-TV to take the award for Best TV program about Extreme Sports in 2005. Andrei Krasnov, the leader of the Extreme Sports Awards organization committee is of the opinion that the next ceremony – The 2nd Annual Russian Extreme Sports Awards will have strengthened safeguards and supervision of these valuable awards for the next winners in 2006. The Organization Committee has turned to colleagues for any information regarding the loss of the bronze statuette and hopes for a quick recovery of the valuable item that was prepared by a number of highly skilled artistic specialists from the artistic enterprise “Alarmâ€. This company has worked on highly important pieces of work including the coat of arms that sits on Moscow City Hall, the famous monument for the creators of the Cyrillic alphabet, Cyril and Methodius in central Moscow and the monument to Marshal Zhukov which stands before the History museum in Moscow.
